Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Limted (DMRC)

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is world’s 19th largest metro system in length. It is serving in NCR region including Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida and Ghaziabad. Daily around 2.4 million people are getting the benefit of Metro. There are 140 stations with 6 Airport express. The track is distributed in 5 different colors lines.

DMRC has launched a mobile application which contains lots of useful information.  It is difficult to remember every station and route system. This application is useful for the people who are new to NCR and traveling by metro first time. Also the application is beneficial for the daily travelers.  The application is easy to use and can be used offline once downloaded.

Information available in application:

1. Route between stations, Station information, nearest metro station, Tour guide, information about metro museum, lost and found etc.
2. While using Route information you will get additional information including distance, fare, time and stations.  One can also see the metro map and Google map.
3. Station information option includes all the information about the station you are looking for. It shows first and last train timings, platforms, gates and directions, contacts numbers, tourist spots, parking, feeder services and lifts and escalators information.
4.  For using the option of nearest metro station you need internet connection. The option will show you the nearest metro station of your area.

VithU: V Gumrah Initiative

A nice initiative taken by STAR India Pvt. Ltd in the form of VithU app, that is specially developed for Women. It’s one of the Women safety apps. One can use this app in emergency or in a situation when you need someone around you.  While using this app, you just need to click the power button of your smartphone two times and it will start sending out alert messages in every 2 minutes to the contacts that you have feed into the app. The message says “I am in danger. I need your help. Please follow my location”.

Your contacts will get your location links in every 2 minutes giving them the updated location. Except this it has lots more options.
